Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
SnapQuote ("we", "us", "our") operates snapquote.us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information from contractors, including name, email, business name, phone number, address, and payment information processed by Stripe.
We collect information from customers submitting job requests, including name, email, phone number, property address, photos of the property, and answers to service questions.
We also collect certain information automatically, such as usage data, IP addresses, and browser type.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the SnapQuote platform
- Generate AI-powered job estimates using OpenAI's gpt-5-mini model. The specific data sent to OpenAI from customer-submitted job requests includes: the service category, property metadata (lot size, house size, formatted address, city, state, zip code), customer-submitted answers to service questions, customer-typed job description, photos uploaded by the customer, and the contractor's business name. We do NOT send to OpenAI: customer names, customer email addresses, customer phone numbers, contractor email addresses, contractor phone numbers, payment information, user identifiers, or lead IDs. AI processing happens server-side on our web platform.
- Send estimates and communications via email through Resend and SMS through Telnyx
- Process payments via Stripe
- Improve the service
Important: The SnapQuote iOS app does not transmit user data to OpenAI. The iOS app's users (contractors) receive AI-generated estimates as output only. AI data processing occurs on our web platform (snapquote.us), where customers (homeowners) submit lead information through our public web form. By submitting a lead on snapquote.us, customers consent to this AI processing of their submission.
OpenAI processes data under their API data handling policy, which states that data sent via the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. See openai.com/policies for OpenAI's full privacy and data handling policies.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties to operate the service:
- Stripe (payment processing) — stripe.com/privacy

5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting us.
6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal data. To exercise your rights, contact support@snapquote.us.

We use cookies for authentication and session management only.
8. Children's Privacy
SnapQuote is not intended for users under 18.
